January 22nd
The worst
thing happened while I was driving to work. I was driving along and
someone pulled right out in front of me...
BAM!!! I was just in
a Car Accident!

The
rest is a little hazy, but
I remember a police car stopping and the cop saying I probably
had whiplash,
and I should go to the emergency room in town to get checked
out.
He said a Houston car
accident was an every day misfortune the way
people drive today.
The hospital doctor
gave me a quick look over, and said I had
a bad whiplash. He said it was a common neck injury after an auto
accident.
He gave me some painkillers,
told me I'd probably feel neck pain
for a few days, and gave me some muscle relaxer pills to provide some
pain-relief for the next several days.
January 23rd
I
woke up feeling horrible neck pain! I definitely had a bad whiplash
injury!
I decided to
take the medication the emergency room doctor gave me,
but as soon as the pills wore off I still felt awful neck pain.
Hopefully I'll have some pain
relief in a couple of days because I really hate
taking these prescription pain pills. They make me feel out of it and
sick to my stomach...
But I don't know what else to
do.
January 28th
The
other guy's personal injury insurance company called.
They said I was probably okay
and the back and neck soreness would wear off, and then I'd be okay.
They offered to pay me $300 on
the spot to sign a personal injury
waiver. I thought it was too early to know how bad my whiplash injury
was, so I told her I would wait a few days.
She
said there was no need to get a personal
injury car accident lawyer. The insurance lady told me
that auto accident
attorneys would cost me a lot of money.
The repair shop had not yet
determined the damage to my car from the auto accident, and this personal injury insurance
rep was already pressuring me to settle my car accident case now and
put it behind me.
But I still feel injured so I
told her I'd wait. She sounded irritated at me...
January 31st
I told my young daughter I couldn't take her to play
with her little friends today because I was too sore and my back and
neck were hurting.
She
got upset and started crying, so I started crying.
Why don't I feel
better?
This auto accident has been
more trouble than it's worth. I'm going to my family doctor tomorrow,
maybe he'll have some ideas.
February 1st
Dr. Dave told me the exact same thing the emergency
room doctor did. He prescribed stronger pills for pain relief in order
to get me through the day and told me I should try physical therapy in
a couple weeks if I still don't feel better.
I
looked at the warning label on these pain relief pills.
Side effects include kidney
damage, liver damage, gastrointestinal bleeding… all these things sound
worse than my neck pain!
Should
I really be taking these pain pills???
February 14th
It's
been almost a month since my car accident and I'm only feeling worse
pain from my whiplash injury...
I decided to try physical
therapy. Hopefully this is the answer I've been looking for.
The
personal injury insurance
lady called again, too.
She's pushing me to settle my auto accident case but I still don't feel
better.
March 10th
I've done physical therapy for 3 weeks now and I don’t
think it's done anything for me, even the therapist seems to be
confused as to why I'm not getting much pain relief from my neck
injury.
I'm going back to Dr. Dave in a
couple of days to see if he has any other ideas. There has to be a
better way!
March 12th
I
just left Dr.
Dave's office in tears... He told me I should consider
neck surgery to help with the cervical spine pain!
I'm supposed to meet with the
neck surgeon in 5 days to talk it over.
I don't want
neck surgery!
I don't know what's wrong. My
car accident wasn't even that severe, or so I thought. Hundreds of
people get into low speed rear end auto accidents like mine every
day... do they go through this same thing, too?
March 14th
The
weirdest thing happened today.
I was looking through the paper when I saw a headline that said...

what I've been going through and

I really think

I

haven't had the time to sit down and write.
